Assay Used to Measure Bioactivity: In Vivo mouse protection assay. Mice were treated daily with Thymosin alpha 1 (80-640 ng/mouse) and challenged with 4x10⁴ cells if C. albicans two days after start of treatment. A decreased C. albicans count was observed in the mice protected with Thymosin alpha 1.
